Post-Session Care: What to Do Within 12-24 Hours After Your Massage

Your massage continues working long after you leave the table.

Here are a few simple steps to help your body recover, rebalance, and get the most from your session:


 Do This


• Stay hydrated.

Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help your body flush out toxins and prevent soreness.


• Rest and relax.

Give yourself permission to slow down. Avoid heavy workouts or stressful activity for at least 12 hours.


• Eat light, nourishing meals.

Choose foods that are easy to digest—fresh vegetables, fruits, lean proteins, and whole grains.


• Take a warm shower or bath.

Warm water (not hot) helps relax muscles and supports circulation.

Optional: add Epsom salts to ease recovery.


• Listen to your body.

Mild soreness or sleepiness can be normal. Take it as a sign your body is responding and rebalancing.

• Alcohol or caffeine (they dehydrate the body).

• Intense exercise or stretching.

• Sitting for long periods right after.

• Skipping water or rest.
